Iroiro na mono

To summarize what i've been up to the last few weeks:

Saw a kabuki performance at the National theater
Went to Enoshima island for umo no hi and toured the caves
Ate horumon with friends for my birthday and had viper ice cream at Namja Town in Sunshine City
Bought a yukata and wore it to a matsuri
Went to Ameyoko street and had a donburi for lunch- scallop and tuna, SO good! 8d
Visited Sensoji in Asakusa and bought a fortune- i got good luck!Went to Ueno Park and saw Taiko drummers, a flea market sale, and a baseball game- but not the zoo...
Watched Arriety in Japanese at home- there's another Ghibli movie in theaters right now, but i wouldn't be able to understand it...
Tried DDR (or "dansurebu") at an arcade with friends after school- i suck!!!

Tomorrow: hopefully a visit to Shibuya, some omiyage shopping, and then tokyo tower once it gets dark

Tsurumikawa

Finally have some free time again- this last week i've been busy choreographing our class performance for  school's talent contest.  After catching up on studying i went for a walk along the Tsurumi River this afternoon. its just down the street from my apartment.

I got back just in time, its pouring rain again. I think we're catching the tail of another typhoon? i never pay attention to the weather report. Seoul just got flooded the other day, i hope Yokohama doesn't!

A little oshirase....

Hey everybody!

I am so busy now that I've been in school for a week- its study, study, study everywhere i go!
So to sum up my past week and a half:
Experienced sadou (tea ceremony) at school
Shopped in Takeshita street Harajuku and tried the crepes
Went to Chinatown, Yokohama with my host family and a friend from school
Looked around Akihabara and Ikebukuro's shops
Went to Disney Sea with friends on a day off- it was student discount day!
Ate dinner in Koreantown, Shinjuku with the Korean administrator from our school
Had my first karaoke experience with friends
Had squid ink pasta for the first time, so yummy!
Tried durian fruit chips- they actually tasted like potatoe chips!

And tomorrow I'm going to a concert in the tokyo dome!

Went to Koreatown next. my friend and i got a personal tour thanks to Parkshi, the Korean school advisor

More updates to come- i've just been super busy with school. i can only use my computer at home and usually by the time i get home i'm so tired i only have time to get my homework done...
